Cockroach Control in Vadodara

Seeing cockroaches run across the kitchen when you switch on the light usually means a much bigger group is hiding nearby. RD Pest Control inspects your home or business, finds where they are living and treats those spots. You can ask for a standard or an odourless option when you book.

Understanding the problem

Why cockroaches are hard to get rid of

Cockroaches spend the day packed into narrow, warm, damp gaps: behind the kitchen platform, inside cabinet hinges, under the fridge, around the sink pipe and inside drain traps. They come out after dark, so a family can live with a growing problem for weeks before noticing it.

Each female carries a protected egg case, and many young ones can hatch from it. A can of household spray kills the few that are out in the open, but it rarely reaches the eggs, and the strong smell often pushes the rest deeper into walls or into the next flat.

Homes and businesses

In homes, most cockroach trouble is in the kitchen and bathrooms. In restaurants, hotels, bakeries, sweet shops and grocery stores, the constant supply of food, warmth and water lets numbers build up quickly, and a cockroach seen by a customer can hurt the business.

Odour or odourless treatment

RD Pest Control uses two kinds of medicine. Standard medicines can leave a mild smell for a while after treatment. Odourless options are available for many treatments and are often chosen by families with small children or elderly members, and by offices and restaurants that need to keep working. Tell us your preference when you book and we will explain what suits your place.

Gel and spray, in simple terms

Depending on what the technician finds, treatment may use gel placed in small dots inside cracks and hinges, spray treatment for drains and hiding areas, or a mix of the two. Cockroaches also hide inside switch boards, and those need a dry dust treatment instead of liquid, which is covered by our switch board dusting treatment.

Common signs to look for

  • Cockroaches scattering when the kitchen light is switched on at night
  • Tiny black droppings, a bit like ground pepper, in drawers and shelf corners
  • Brown, bean-shaped egg cases stuck behind appliances or in cupboard joints
  • An oily, stale smell inside closed cupboards
  • Small young cockroaches near the gas stove, microwave or fridge
  • Cockroaches climbing out of bathroom floor traps or the kitchen sink outlet
  • Cockroaches coming out of switch boards or from behind wall-mounted appliances

Why it happens

  • Food crumbs, oil and spills left on the platform or floor overnight
  • Leaking taps, wet sink cupboards and bathrooms that stay damp
  • Drain traps and gully traps without proper covers
  • Gaps around pipes, tiles, modular kitchen panels and wall fittings
  • Cardboard cartons, old newspapers and clutter in lofts and storerooms
  • Shared drainage and ducts that let cockroaches travel between flats and shops
  • Groceries or delivery boxes that bring egg cases inside

Where it usually happens

  • Under the kitchen sink and behind the cooking platform
  • Fridge motor area, microwave, oven and mixer grinder
  • Modular kitchen drawers, hinges and back panels
  • Bathroom floor traps, wash basins and drain covers
  • Switch boards and electrical points in kitchens and pantries
  • Restaurant kitchens, dish-wash areas and dry stores
  • Shop counters, back rooms and godown corners

Our cockroach control process

What happens after you contact us.
  1. Step 1: Talk and photos

You explain the problem on WhatsApp or a call, ideally with a few photos. The owner agrees the visit and price with you on the phone.

  2. Step 2: Inspection

The technician checks the kitchen, bathrooms, drains, appliances and storage to see how heavy the infestation is and where cockroaches are hiding.

  3. Step 3: Choosing the treatment

Based on the property and who lives or works there, we decide between gel, spray or both, and whether you want the standard or an odourless option.

  4. Step 4: Targeted treatment

Gel is placed in small spots inside cracks and hinges, and drains and hiding areas are treated where needed. Switch boards get dust treatment if you have asked for it, never liquid.

  5. Step 5: Prevention advice and follow-up

We explain what to keep covered, what to seal and how to clean. Heavy cases, restaurants and older buildings often need a second visit, and the technician will tell you if yours is likely to.

Before and after the service

What to do before we arrive

  • Pack away open food, spices, plates and utensils into closed containers or another room
  • Empty the area under the sink and clear the kitchen platform so hiding spots can be reached
  • Tell us if anyone at home is pregnant, has an infant, asthma or allergies, or if you keep pets, birds or fish
  • Mention whether you would like an odourless option when you book
  • Stop using household cockroach sprays a few days before the visit
  • Keep children and pets out of the kitchen while the technician works

What to expect afterwards

  • For a few days you may see more cockroaches as they come out and die. This is expected
  • Do not wipe off the gel spots the technician shows you
  • Do not spray your own insecticide over treated spots, as it can stop the gel working
  • With a standard medicine, a mild smell may remain for a while. Keep windows open
  • Most homes see a clear drop over one to two weeks, not overnight
  • If you still see many after about two weeks, message us so we can check

Safety information

Kitchens need extra care

The kitchen is where your family's food is cooked, so we ask you to put away food, drinking water and utensils before we start. Children, elderly members and pets should stay out of the treated areas until the technician says they can return.

Tell us who is at home

Please let us know in advance about pregnancy, infants, asthma, allergies, pets, birds or aquariums. This helps decide where to use gel, where spray is acceptable, and whether an odourless option makes more sense.

Electrical points

Liquid is never sprayed into switch boards or sockets. If cockroaches are living inside electrical points, those are handled with a dry dust treatment, with power switched off where needed.

If anyone feels unwell after a treatment, please see a doctor. You can also contact us with any questions before or after the visit.

Cockroach Control across Vadodara

Vadodara's hot summers and long, humid monsoon suit cockroaches well. When drains fill up during heavy rain, many families notice cockroaches coming out of bathroom floor traps and kitchen outlets in larger numbers.

Apartment societies share drainage lines and service ducts, so cockroaches can move from one flat to another. Older pol houses and bungalows usually have more cracks in walls and woodwork, while busy restaurants, farsan and sweet shops and food stalls deal with them because food and water are always around. We keep these local factors in mind when we plan cockroach control in Vadodara.

Cockroach Control: common questions

Do you have an odourless cockroach treatment?

Odourless options are available for many treatments, including many cockroach jobs. Standard medicines can have a mild smell for a while. Tell us your preference when you book and the owner will explain which option suits your home or business.

Gel or spray: which is better for cockroaches?

Neither is best everywhere. Gel suits kitchens because it is placed in small spots inside cracks and hinges. Spray can be useful for drains and hiding areas. The technician decides after the inspection, and often a mix of the two is used.

Why are more cockroaches coming out after the treatment?

This is common for a few days. The treatment disturbs them and draws them out of hiding, and they die over the following days. If numbers are still high after about two weeks, let us know.

Do we need to leave the house?

It depends on what is used. With gel only, you may be able to stay, keeping away from the kitchen. If spray or a standard medicine is used, the technician will tell you how long to keep out of the treated rooms.

Cockroaches are coming out of my switch boards. Can you treat that?

Yes. Switch boards need a dry dust treatment and cotton plugging, not liquid spray. You can add our switch board dusting treatment to a cockroach job; mention it when you book.

Can you treat a restaurant without closing it?

Often the treatment can be planned around your working hours, for example after closing time, and an odourless option can be used for many areas. Discuss your timings with the owner on the phone when you book.

How many visits will I need?

Light problems often settle after one visit. Heavy infestations, older buildings and food businesses may need a follow-up because young cockroaches keep hatching from eggs for some time. The technician will tell you after the inspection.

How much does cockroach control cost in Vadodara?

It depends on the size of the place, how many rooms need treatment, how bad the problem is and which option you choose. Send details and photos on WhatsApp or call, and the owner will quote after understanding the job.
