General
Who is RD Pest Control?
RD Pest Control is a Vadodara pest control and bird netting business run by Roshan Chandubhai Mali, a young, hands-on owner who does the work himself and has already handled many jobs. He is currently working towards professional certification. You can read more on our about page.
Do you work for homes as well as businesses?
Yes. We work for residential customers such as flats, bungalows, row houses and societies, and for commercial premises such as shops, offices, restaurants, hotels, godowns, factories and schools. Tell us the type and size of the space and any timing restrictions when you get in touch.
Which services do you offer?
We offer pest control for cockroaches, termites, ants, mosquitoes, lizards, centipedes (kankhajura), rats and mice, house flies and bathroom pests, along with switch board dusting, fogging, road and society fogging, termite piping systems and honey bee treatment for commercial premises. We also install bird nets and green (shade) nets. See the full list on our services page.
Which areas do you serve?
We work in Vadodara. Share your locality and a nearby landmark when you contact us, and we will confirm whether we can visit. See our areas page for more.
What if my problem does not need treatment?
Then we will tell you. Sometimes fixing a leak, sealing a gap or clearing standing water is enough, and we would rather say so honestly than sell you a treatment you do not need.
Odour & odourless medicines
What is the difference between your standard and odourless medicines?
We use two kinds of medicines. Standard medicines can leave a mild smell for a while after the treatment. Odourless medicines have no noticeable smell. Both are used to treat pests; we suggest which one suits your problem and your place. See odour and odourless pest control.
Can I choose odourless medicine for my treatment?
Yes, odourless options are available for many of our treatments. Tell us your preference when you share the problem or book, and we will confirm whether odourless suits that job before the visit.
Does odourless mean the medicine is chemical-free?
No. Odourless means there is no noticeable smell, not that there are no chemicals. The same precautions apply: keep children and pets away during the treatment, cover or put away food, and follow the time we tell you before using or cleaning the treated areas.
Who usually chooses odourless medicine?
Many families with small children, elderly members or someone sensitive to smells choose odourless, and so do offices, shops, restaurants, hotels and clinics where people need to use the space again soon after the treatment.
How long does the smell of standard medicine last?
It depends on the treatment, the size of the space and how well it is ventilated. Opening windows and running a fan after the treatment helps it clear. We tell you what to expect for your job on the day.
Which one works better, standard or odourless?
Both are used to treat pests. What matters most is finding where pests hide and breed and treating those spots properly, which is why we start with an inspection. We explain our plan for your place either way.
Does the medicine I choose change the price?
We agree the price for your job on the phone before the visit, including the medicine option you choose. If you are not sure which option to pick, ask us to explain both. Read our guide on odour vs odourless pest control.
Booking and payment
How do I book a visit?
Fill in the booking form, send us a message on WhatsApp, or call us. Tell us the problem, your area and, if possible, share a few photos. We then call you to agree the date, time and price.
Is my visit booked once I submit the form?
Not yet. Submitting the form or sending a WhatsApp message is a request. Your visit is booked only after we have spoken on the phone and confirmed the date, time and price with you.
How is the price decided?
The price depends on the pest, the size of the space and the treatment needed, so we agree it with you on the phone after you explain the problem. Photos help us understand the job before we talk. Any payment terms are also discussed and agreed on the call.
What should I send on WhatsApp?
Your name, area and a nearby landmark, what the problem is and where you see it, and a few clear photos of the pest, droppings, damage or the balcony you want netted. This helps us suggest the right service before we call.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes. Please let us know as early as you can by phone or WhatsApp, and we will try to arrange another time that suits you.
Safety
Is pest control safe with children, pets and elderly people at home?
We plan the treatment with your household in mind and explain the precautions before we start. Keep children, pets and elderly family members away from treated areas until we say it is fine to return. Please tell us in advance if anyone is pregnant, unwell or has asthma or other breathing problems, and if you have birds or an aquarium.
Do I need to leave the house during treatment?
It depends on the treatment and where it is done. For many indoor treatments you only need to stay out of the treated rooms for a while; for fogging and some sprays it is better to step out or stay in another closed room. We will tell you clearly before we start.
How should I prepare my home before a visit?
Put away or cover food, utensils and drinking water, and clear the areas we will treat, such as kitchen cabinets or under the sink. Move pets, pet food and bowls to a safe place, and cover aquariums. We will share any specific preparation steps when we confirm the visit.
Is pest control a substitute for medical advice?
No. If anyone has a fever during the mosquito season, or a bite or sting that causes swelling or a reaction, please see a doctor. We can help with the pests, but health concerns should always go to a doctor.
Pest control
What is the difference between mosquito smoke fogging and medicine spray?
Smoke fogging uses a fogger unit to spread a visible fog through outdoor areas like gardens, compounds and parking, reaching adult mosquitoes in bushes and corners. Medicine-based spray treatment is applied to the surfaces where mosquitoes rest, and suits indoor spaces. Many places use the right mix; see mosquito control for details.
Do you do fogging for societies and roads?
Yes. We offer road and society fogging for internal roads, compounds, gardens, parking and common areas of societies and campuses, as well as general fogging services. Fogging works best when standing water in the society is also cleared, and residents are told in advance to close windows and keep children and pets indoors.
What is a termite piping system?
It is a network of pipes laid under or along the floor with injection points, so termite medicine can be pumped in again later without drilling the flooring. It is most practical during construction, and sometimes possible during renovation. The barrier needs topping up from time to time. See our termite piping system page.
Why do you use powder in switch boards instead of spray?
Spraying liquid into electrical points is unsafe and can cause short circuits. Our switch board dusting uses a dry powder inside the board for cockroaches, ants and termites, then plugs the conduit openings with cotton to slow pests moving between boards. Power is switched off where needed for safety.
Why do kankhajura (centipedes) come into the house?
Centipedes look for damp, dark shelter and feed on other small insects, so they often appear in bathrooms, drains and ground-floor rooms, especially during the monsoon. Fixing leaks, covering drains, sealing gaps under doors and clearing clutter near walls all help. See centipede (kankhajura) control.
What does bathroom pest control cover?
Our bathroom pest control deals with the common bathroom pests together: drain flies, cockroaches coming up from drains, and ants. We check drains, floor traps and gaps, treat where needed and point out leaks or openings that should be fixed.
Do you remove honey bees from homes?
No. Our honey bee treatment is for commercial premises only, such as shops, offices, factories, godowns, hotels and schools. We do not take residential honey bee jobs. If there is a hive near people, keep everyone at a safe distance and do not disturb it.
Will one visit solve the problem?
Sometimes, but not always. Pests like cockroaches can have eggs that hatch after the first treatment, and some problems need a follow-up visit. We cannot promise a pest-free result, but we will tell you honestly if we expect more than one visit and what you can do to help.
How can I stop pests coming back?
Keep food sealed, take out waste daily, fix leaks, clear standing water and seal gaps around pipes and doors. We share specific prevention tips for your home or premises after the visit.
Bird netting
What types of bird net do you install?
We install two types: a visible net, which suits utility balconies, ducts and service areas, and a nearly invisible transparent net that blocks the view much less, which suits living room and front balconies. See bird and pigeon net installation or our guide on visible vs invisible bird nets.
Do bird nets harm pigeons?
No. A net simply closes off the space so birds cannot get in. If there is an active nest with eggs or chicks, it is better to wait until the young birds have left before the net goes up; send us a photo and we will advise.
What is a green net and where is it used?
A green net, or shade net, cuts down direct sunlight while letting air through. It is used on terraces, balconies, terrace gardens, parking areas and commercial spaces to make them more comfortable in Vadodara's summer. See green net installation.
Do I need permission from my society for a net?
Some societies need approval for outer fittings, work in shared ducts or anything on a common terrace. Please check with your society office before we visit so the work is not held up.
