Bird & Pigeon Net Installation in Vadodara

A properly fitted net is a simple, humane way to stop pigeons and other birds from getting into your balcony, window, duct or shaft. RD Pest Control offers two kinds of net: a regular visible net, and a nearly invisible transparent net that keeps your view much clearer. Send photos on WhatsApp and we will help you choose.

Understanding the problem

Pigeons and other birds look for sheltered, quiet places close to food and water. In a typical Vadodara building, that means open balconies, utility areas, duct shafts, the space around AC outdoor units and window openings. Once birds settle in a spot, they keep coming back, bringing droppings, feathers, twigs and noise with them.

Shooing birds away, hanging shiny objects or putting out plastic snakes usually works for a few days at most. When birds are getting into a space, the most reliable answer is to close the opening so they physically cannot enter. A net does that while still letting light and air through.

Two types of net: visible or nearly invisible

We install two kinds of bird net, and the right one depends on your space and what matters to you:

  • Visible net: a regular bird net that you can clearly see. It is a practical choice for ducts, shafts, utility areas, godowns and places where the view does not matter much.
  • Nearly invisible (transparent) net: a fine, see-through net that blocks the view much less. It suits front balconies, living room windows and places where you want to keep looking outside without a net in your face.

How to choose

  • The view: if you sit on the balcony or look out of that window every day, the nearly invisible net usually feels much better
  • The look of the building: some owners and societies prefer a net that is hard to notice from the road
  • Society rules: many societies have rules about what can be fitted on the building front, so check before you decide
  • The spot itself: a hidden duct or a godown opening does not need a see-through net

We will show you both options and explain what to expect from each before you decide.

Common signs to look for

  • Pigeons walking into the balcony or utility area even when people are around
  • Droppings on the floor, railing, plant pots or clothes put out to dry
  • Twigs, straw or feathers collecting in balcony corners or behind the AC unit
  • Birds flying in and out of a duct shaft, light well or window opening
  • Cooing and fluttering early in the morning and in the evening
  • Feathers and dust blowing into rooms when the balcony door is open
  • Blocked balcony drains or AC pipes because of debris

Why it happens

  • Open balconies and utility areas with nothing to stop birds entering
  • Duct shafts and light wells left open at the top or sides
  • Sheltered gaps around AC outdoor units
  • Quiet corners, lofts and storerooms that are rarely used
  • Grains, food or water left out nearby, or birds being fed close to the building
  • Neighbouring flats that are already netted, pushing birds towards open ones

Where it usually happens

  • Front and back balconies of flats
  • Windows and french windows without grills
  • Utility and wash areas where clothes are dried
  • Duct shafts, light wells and utility shafts
  • AC outdoor unit areas
  • Terraces and terrace openings
  • Commercial buildings, shops and offices
  • Godowns and warehouse openings

Our bird & pigeon net installation process

What happens after you contact us.
  1. Step 1: Photos and a first look

Send photos or a short video of the area on WhatsApp. We discuss where birds are coming in and which type of net makes sense for that spot.

  2. Step 2: Measure and choose the net

We measure the openings and check the walls or frames where the net will be fixed. You choose between the visible net and the nearly invisible net.

  3. Step 3: Prepare the area

The area is cleared and checked so that no bird is closed in behind the net.

  4. Step 4: Fix the edges

Fixing points are set along the edges of the opening so the net can be held firmly. Wherever possible, the work is done safely from inside the balcony or room.

  5. Step 5: Install and close the gaps

The net is stretched and tied in place, and we go round the edges, corners, pipes and AC unit area to close any gaps birds could squeeze through.

  6. Step 6: Final check

We check the finished net with you, explain how to look after it, and tell you if any other opening nearby may need covering.

Before and after the service

What to do before we arrive

  • Send clear photos of the area, taken from inside and from a little distance
  • Tell us your floor number and whether the area has grills or an AC outdoor unit
  • Check with your society whether nets on the building front need approval
  • Decide whether you would like the visible net or the nearly invisible net, or ask us to help you choose
  • Clear plants, clothes lines and furniture from the area to be netted
  • Tell us if you need an opening in the net for AC servicing or cleaning
  • Keep children and pets indoors while drilling and fitting are going on

What to expect afterwards

  • Birds may keep flying at the net or sitting outside it for some days before they give up
  • If birds start using a nearby open spot instead, send us a photo so we can look at it
  • Do not hang clothes, plants or heavy things from the net; it is not made to carry weight
  • Check the net now and then for loose ties or tears, especially after strong winds and the monsoon
  • Small tears are easier to fix early, so let us know if you spot one
  • Keep grains and water away from the outside of the net so birds are not drawn back

Safety information

Nets are a humane way to deal with birds. They simply keep birds out of a space; they do not harm, trap or injure them. We do not use poison, glue or traps. Before closing an area, we check that no bird is left inside behind the net. If there is a nest with eggs or chicks in the area, please tell us, as it is better to plan the installation around it.

Net fitting often happens at the edge of a balcony, at a window or along a shaft on an upper floor. Wherever possible the work is done safely from inside, and we will not work from a position that looks unsafe. Please tell us about the floor, building access and any society rules on outside work or drilling hours before the visit.

Drilling creates some dust and noise, so keep children and pets away from the work area. Bird droppings should be handled with gloves and a mask. Anyone with asthma or other breathing problems should avoid cleaning droppings themselves and should see a doctor if they have health concerns.

Prevention tips

Simple habits that help reduce the chance of the problem coming back.
  • Cover every opening in the area; birds will find even a small gap
  • Close the space around the AC outdoor unit as part of the netting
  • Do not leave grains, rotis or water bowls on balconies or window sills
  • If you like feeding birds, do it at a spot away from homes
  • Sweep balconies regularly so droppings and twigs do not build up
  • Get small tears in the net fixed quickly before they grow
  • Talk to your society about netting shafts and common areas, so birds do not just move to the next flat

Bird & Pigeon Net Installation across Vadodara

Vadodara has a large pigeon population, and feeding birds is a kind and common practice in the city. High-rise societies offer pigeons plenty of shelter: balconies, AC outdoor units, duct shafts and utility areas. Older buildings and bungalows have open terraces, verandas and courtyards that birds use too.

In the hot summer months, people want to keep balconies and windows open for air, which is why a net is often preferred over closing a space with glass or grills. Many residents choose the nearly invisible net for front balconies so they keep their view, and the visible net for ducts and back areas.

During the monsoon, wet droppings and twigs smell more and can block balcony drains and AC pipes, so many families prefer to get nets fitted before the rains. Strong monsoon winds also make good fixing important.

Bird & Pigeon Net Installation: common questions

What is the difference between the visible net and the nearly invisible net?

Both keep birds out. The visible net is a regular bird net you can clearly see, and suits ducts, shafts, utility areas and godowns. The nearly invisible net is a fine transparent net that blocks the view much less, so it suits front balconies and windows where you want to keep looking outside.

Which net should I choose for my balcony?

Think about how much you use the balcony and the view, how the building looks from outside and what your society allows. If you sit on the balcony or look out often, many people prefer the nearly invisible net. Send us photos and we will help you decide.

Does the net harm birds?

No. A net simply stops birds from entering a space. We do not use poison, glue or traps, and we check that no bird is left inside the area before the net is closed.

Will the net block light and air?

Bird nets are made to let light and air through. The nearly invisible net also keeps the view much clearer. Most people get used to a net within a few days.

Do I need permission from my society?

Many societies in Vadodara have rules about changes to the building front, so please check with your society office before booking. Rules differ from building to building.

Can my AC outdoor unit still be serviced after netting?

Yes, if we plan for it. Tell us before installation and we can leave an opening or a section that can be opened when the AC technician needs access.

Do you install nets on high floors?

Yes, in many cases. Wherever possible the work is done from inside the balcony or room. Please share photos and your floor number, and we will tell you honestly if a spot cannot be reached safely.

How much does bird net installation cost?

It depends on the size of the area, the type of net you choose, the height and how the net needs to be fixed. The price is agreed on the phone after we understand the job, usually from photos you send on WhatsApp.
